About You/ the Role
We are seeking a proactive individual with previous experience in an inventory controller role in a multi-site environment to deliver accurate and disciplined inventory control processes. In this role, you will be required to consult and liaise with internal staff and the wider operations team to ensure connected processes through the supply chain, purchasing and production functions. This will in turn ensure the functions can trust physical inventory to align with system records.
You will optimise warehouse operations through inventory and ERP based analysis and control, ensuring the highest level of inventory data integrity of product-related information, evaluating, and recommending changes to current and future system requirements to meet organisational needs across multiple facilities.
Key Responsibilities of the role will include:
- Ensure high levels of product availability, and inventory to support and meet customer expectations
- Ensure inventory accuracy commitments and own KPI monitoring/updates
- Implement inventory control regimes and manage the full and cycle count/physical inventory process to assure accuracy
- Ensure all product is accurately recorded by location and all physical transactions are accompanied by a system record at the time of movement
- Maintain records and product labelling discipline when receiving, storing, issuing production orders, and dispatching product
- Establish and maintain excess product returned from production orders or through credit/quality process
- Provide relevant reporting and documentation on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
- Support and maintain ERP stock management system across multiple operation sites within the Business Unit
- Accurately manage stock control to deliver objectives and service level targets
- Investigate all discrepancies and issues within pre-determined time frames
- Provide training and guidance to warehouse officers on effective control of inventory
- Assist in effective storage solutions to maximise warehouse efficiency including storage of product to minimise travel time
Qualifications
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Experience in an Inventory Controller role in an FMCG, Manufacturing or Logistics/ Supply Chain operations
- Strong planning and problem-solving skills and ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage business relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience using MS Excel and the ability to conduct detailed data analysis (advanced user of MS Excel)
- Demonstrated logical thinking and effective problem-solving approaches
- A continuous process improvement mindset, pro-actively seeking improvements and operational efficiencies
- An understanding of HSE issues and Quality principles
- Initiative and provide complete follow-through on areas of responsibility
- An ability to be 'hands on' and an outcomes-focused attitude
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills;
- Product knowledge (or the ability to learn new products).
- A sound understanding of SAP Manufacturing or D365 is desirable
