Job Description
As a Field Support Manager for warehouse robots, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our robotics solutions in the logistics industry. You will be responsible for managing a team of field support technicians and providing technical guidance and support to our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Denver Site Support: Conduct support for Prime’s Denver test/demo center and ensure robots and system are always available. Lead by example by keeping your workspace and systems ship shape and ensuring your field teams follow the example.
- Team Management: Lead and manage a team of field support technicians responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting logistics robots and related equipment.
- Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and assistance to field support technicians, as well as customers, to ensure timely resolution of technical issues and minimize downtime.
- Installation and Configuration: Oversee the installation and configuration process of logistics robots at customer sites, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and optimal system performance.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to keep the robots in optimal working condition. Coordinate repairs and replacements as necessary to minimize disruptions to customer operations.
- Training and Documentation: Develop training programs and materials for field support technicians and customers. Ensure that accurate and up-to-date documentation is available for troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at customer sites, serving as a point of contact for technical queries, escalations, and overall customer satisfaction.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor the performance of logistics robots and related systems, analyzing data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities to optimize operations. Prepare regular reports on performance metrics and present findings to management.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest developments in logistics robotics and automation technology. Identify opportunities for process improvements and provide feedback to the engineering and product teams for future enhancements.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, computer science, or a related field. Relevant certifications or technical training in robotics and automation will be an advantage.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical support, field operations, or project management, preferably in the robotics or logistics industry.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of robotics, automation systems, and related technologies. Familiarity with logistics operations and warehouse management systems is desirable. Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Meticulous: A born organizer who does not tolerate messes and embraces the Japanese maxim of Everything has a place, and everything is in its space.
- Leadership and Communication: Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a diverse team. Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with customers, team members, and stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Proven ability to analyze complex technical issues, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Ability to diagnose circuits and comfortable with a soldering iron
- Experienced with Cable Management, how to ensure that wiring in moving systems are clean, neat and efficient. Work with engineering teams to improve our cable harness designs to make them stable in the field and easy to maintain.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing customer needs and requirements. Willing to work odd hours to coordinate with field teams and engineers in China.
- Travel: Willingness to travel frequently to customer sites for installations, training, and support, as per business needs. Expected travel 25%.
