Job Description
Field Application Engineer
We are looking for 2 or more engineers who live in either Harrisburg/Carlisle, Allentown, or Scranton areas of Pennsylvania. You would work every day at one of our customer sites helping with production issues ranging from mechanical, to electrical, to networking to software. No one candidate will excel at all of these fields, but we look for someone with familiarity with all and a deeper knowledge in one or more of the other areas.
This is a hands on role and you will spend your time performing maintenance fixes to robots that are in production and then also pulling robots and conducting Preventative Maintenance to keep the robots in a good state of repair to hit our uptime guarantees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform hardware troubleshooting, including electronics, motors, and cabling, ensuring optimal functionality of the robot fleet.
- Work hands-on with electromechanical systems in a shop environment, contributing to the efficient operation of the robots.
- Conduct robot inspections and perform preventative maintenance
- Diagnose and troubleshoot software issues, ensuring the smooth functioning of the robotic systems.
- Administer Linux systems, particularly adept at utilizing ssh, grep, and working on the command line.
- Demonstrate soldering expertise when necessary, maintaining and repairing electronic components.
- Exhibit a quick learning ability and an exceptional work ethic, adapting swiftly to evolving challenges.
- Must have first-rate attention to detail and be meticulous in all tasks.
- Document all fixes to robots and maintain spare parts inventory
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Strong work ethic
- 3+ years experience supporting hardware and software systems
- Circuit Diagnostics: able to troubleshoot complex circuits
- Meticulous: a born organizer who keeps your workspace clean and organized at all times.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, fostering a cohesive and productive work environment.
- Flexibility in work hours to collaborate with colleagues in other time zones in order
- Proficiency in quality assurance and testing methods.
- Aptitude for creating accurate documentation and technical writing, ensuring clarity and ease of understanding.
Nice to have:
- Linux skills
- Prior experience with Warehouse Management System (WMS) software is a valuable asset.
- Experience maintaining lithium batteries.
- Knowledge of basic networking
- Familiarity with databases and proficiency in writing mySQL queries.
