Job Description

We’re looking for a field application engineer for our client site in Carlisle, PA. The role is hands-on supporting the customer directly. You will become proficient in our software, conduct maintenance, perform upgrades, and provide improvement ideas to the engineering teams for the fleet of robots. When issues with the bots and/or system occur, you will be responsible for documenting, troubleshooting, solving problems, and reporting progress.

Qualifications

Taking care of a fleet of robots requires someone capable and/or a willingness to learn mechanical, electrical, software, networking, and database disciplines. Prime is looking for a candidate that is independent, organized, curious, a good communicator, and has an interest or passion for robotics and tech.

In order to be successful you should have experience with as many of the below as possible:

  • Hardware troubleshooting (electronics, motors, cabling)

  • Working hands-on with electromechanical systems in a shop

  • Software diagnosing and troubleshooting

  • Linux admin, especially ssh, grep, and working on the command line

  • Office IT administration, setting up PCs, switches, WiFi, VPNs, etc

  • Soldering

  • Quick learner with a good work ethic

Nice To Have:

  • Experience with WMS (Warehouse Management System) software

  • Quality assurance and/or testing

  • Creating documentation and/or technical writing

  • Familiarity with databases and writing mySQL queries

  • Customer support

  • Independently motivated with ability to work as part of a team

Compensation Range: 

  • $55,000-80,000 US Annually depending on experience

Participation in the on-call schedule is required. There may be travel required for up to 2-3 weeks at a time during an implementation.  Flexibility to work in off hours in order to coordinate with the China team is desired.
