Job Description

Job Overview:
Bowlin Group is seeking a reliable CDL Driver to join our Communications Division. This role is crucial for the safe and efficient transportation of equipment and crew to various project sites. While there is significant work locally, this position may require mandatory travel and occasional weekend work. Skills related to this position can be optional as the selected candidate will receive comprehensive training. The CDL Driver will report to our Walton, KY office location.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate company vehicles, including heavy trucks and other vehicles requiring a CDL, to transport equipment and personnel to and from job sites.
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Plan routes and meet delivery schedules in coordination with project managers and team leaders.
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
  • Document and log work/rest periods and kilometers spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts.
  • Report defects, accidents, or violations immediately to the appropriate manager.
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of equipment and materials as needed.
  • Ensure securement of the load according to safety requirements and prevent any damage to the cargo.
  • Handle other related duties as required to complete the job effectively and safely.

Physical Standards:

  • Ability to engage in physical activities such as climbing, bending, stooping, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds.

Environmental Conditions:

  • Work performed outdoors, with exposure to extreme weather conditions and potential hazards.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in operating a variety of heavy equipment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Mandatory: Must possess a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
  • Experience with bobcats and excavators is preferred but not required.

  • Pay is competitive and depends on experience.
