Enterprise Network Administrator

We are looking for a Network Administrator to maintain a reliable, secure and efficient data communications network. The ideal candidate will be able to deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all active network equipment in order to ensure smooth network operation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Evaluate and analyze current network systems to provide recommendations large-scale projects and upgrades.  
  • Fully support, configure, maintain and upgrade corporate customer’s networks and in house servers
  • Oversee and manage the purchase, installation, and support of agency-wide network communications.  
  • Install and integrate new server hardware and applications
  • Ensure agency networks meet and maintain government security protocols  
  • Keep an eye out for needed updates, and provide on-site and remote support of systems to troubleshooting patch status, and affect immediate patch repairs.  
  • Reorganize workstations in the enterprise to adhere to patch windows, and by system type. Define AD groups for each agency system. Work with field management/field technical officers to move all agency system into one of these AD groups. Collaborate with Patch Management team to turn on SCCM Peer Caching or Similar SCCM technology and same-site redundancy for all sites.  
  • Support and administer third-party applications
  • Ensure network security and connectivity
  • Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weaknesses
  • Set up user accounts, permissions and passwords
  • Resolve problems reported by end user
  • Define network policies and procedures
  • Specify system requirements and design solutions
  • Research and make recommendations on server system administration
  • Document site-specific settings, catalog of unique systems at each site.

Qualifications

 

  • ACTIVE Top Secret clearance or CBP BI
  • 5+ years of experience in similar capacity supporting an enterprise network and systems.
  • Advance knowledge of LAN/WAN systems and related applications
  • Hands on experience in networking, routing and switching
  • Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
  • Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired
  • Ability to set up and configure server hardware
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
  • Great at organizing, prioritizing and multitasking
  • Juniper, Cisco, CWNA or BCNE training.
