Job Description

We are seeking a Payroll Accountant to perform weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing for multi-state company. The candidate will serve as the primary person for all payroll functions, including gathering time, submitting payroll and entering in payroll journal entries. The candidate will be the primary contact for all payroll related issues such as state tax and benefit deductions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In this capacity, you will be responsible for all aspects of time-sheet administration, validating and processing electronic time-sheets, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, generating accurate and timely payment to employees utilizing Microsoft Dynamics SL and ADP payroll systems.

  • Timekeeping administration in MS Dynamics SL including but not limited to export of time-sheet data from Dynamics SL, user access, group setups, time-sheet schedules and charge code access.
  • Enter new hire data, update changes in ADP and Time Collection and maintain payroll records and files as needed.
  • Process time-sheet corrections in Dynamics SL on a weekly basis.
  • Provide assistance to employees with payroll questions/inquiries.
  • Reviewing employee information in the accounting system and ADP Payroll
  • Validating and processing electronic time-sheets
  • Ensuring Compliance with regulatory requirements (i.e. Service Contract Act, Wage Garnishments)
  • Generating accurate and timely payment to employees
  • Reconciling quarterly ADP State and Federal tax filing
  • Reconciling and booking necessary payroll Journal entries
  • Reconciling Vacation & Sick Leaves within ADP
  • First point of contact for any payroll inquires
  • Perform other payroll-related duties; assist with audit requests and special projects as required

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BS in accounting or finance
  • 1+ years of experience in processing payroll
  • Must demonstrate the ability and desire to learn
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills, be able to multi-task and function in a deadline-driven workplace while working independently.
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills, strong organizational and analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently
