Job Description

We are seeking a Human Resources Manager for a full-time employment opportunity in Washington, DC. The Human Resources Manager maintains and enhances the organization's services by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices; reports to the Operations Director and assists and advises supervisors.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Advises Executive management on all personnel matters.
  • Manages human resource programs by providing services to key areas, including: employment processing, compensation, training and development, performance reviews, records management, policy development, succession planning, talent acquisition, employee relations and retention, AA/EEO compliance; completes necessary personnel transactions.
  • Provides support as a main point of contact for clients and employees concerning the full employment life-cycle (from on-boarding to separation); demonstrates a high level of customer service to manage client expectations.
  • Maintains employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.
  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, advises Executive Management of changes, and enforces compliance.
  • Prepares reports, analyzes data and summarizes trends for key initiatives; creates ad hoc reports as needed.
  • Enhances Company's performance by identifying potential issues; evaluating and presenting solutions; implementing and coaching supervisors and staff.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Trains and mentors HR team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years HR relevant experience – or – a similar combination of education and experience
  • Advanced knowledge of ADP HRIS - WFN
  • SPHR or PHR certification highly preferred
  • Ability to pass a background/criminal history check
