Configuration and Release Management lead

Job Description

We are seeking a Configuration and Release Management lead to provide infrastructure and application support for the government’s acceptance testing, change management, and release management processes.

The Configuration and Release Management lead will provide support for Configuration Management (CM) activities including handling changes systematically so a system maintains its integrity over time. Implementing policies, procedures, techniques, and tools that manage, evaluate proposed changes, track the status of changes, and maintain an inventory of system and support documents as the system changes.

  • Track and update the status of defects, enhancements, and change requests for select product lines.
  • Coordinate with Chief Engineers to generate and present a weekly report in support of the Technical Review Group (TRG).
  • Track and report external ASIs that may operationally impact product lines.
  • Coordinate, conduct, and manage Weekly TRGs and Engineering Review Boards (ERB).
  • Assist with the creation, review and update of Service Life Cycle Support documents.  These documents are related to the sustainment of the capabilities and may include CONOPs, CM Plan, Techniques, Tactics and Procedures (TTPs), Incident Response Plan (IRP), Requirements,  Impact Analyses, Continuous Monitoring Strategy, and Trend Analyses.
  • Submit the necessary artifacts as required by the CM process to Project Forge.  In the event that the Project Forge is superseded by other technology the contract shall transition the information within Project Forge to that capability and support the new system.
  • Provide meeting minutes to include action items and attendees.

The Configuration and Release Management lead will also provide support for Release Management (RM) activities including planning, scheduling and controlling the system baseline through the different stages and environments; including testing and deploying.

  • Assist the PMO and Chief Engineer in support of Configuration Control Board (CCB) /Engineer Review Board (ERB) activities to include obtaining necessary approvals to deploy a release.
  • Attend and participate in meetings that involve testing to include briefings, work group sessions and CCBs/ERBs
  • Attend and participate in life cycle process reviews to include requirements reviews, design reviews, security design reviews and test reviews.
  • Submit, coordinate, and track ASI’s in support of product lines.
  • Notify all stakeholders of coordinated ASI schedules via calendar invite.

Qualifications

  • Lead and support change management/release management, ideally in government environment using ITIL/ITSM best practices.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and various environments such as development, test, staging, pre-production and production
  • 2+ years supporting Configuration Control Board (CCB) and Engineer Review Board (ERB).
  • Excellent technical documentation for meeting minutes, technical reports and service lifecycle support documents such as CONOPs, Change Management Plan, Techniques, Tactics and Procedures (TTPs), Incident Response Plan (IRP), Requirements, Impact Analyses, Continuous Monitoring Strategy, and Trend Analyses.
  • Strong oral and written communication.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline
