We are looking for a strategic email marketer to optimize our email lifecycle, help us launch thoughtful new welcome, re-engagement, and personalization tactics, and leverage Pride’s community and readership to acquire new email fans. Our email subscriber is one of our most engaged and loyal audience segments - we’re looking for talent who is passionate about building a user experience to super-serve this channel.
The Email Marketing Manager will help to drive email marketing strategy for Pride Media Properties - Out.com, The Advocate, and Pride.com. This is an exciting opportunity for you to craft email strategy at a high-level, but you’ll be hands on in deploying email campaigns, optimizing performance, and providing reporting on KPIs to stakeholders on a weekly basis. You’ll also help us develop and launch acquisition tactics through sweepstakes and innovative partnerships to grow our list of engaged email subscribers.
This role will report into the Director of Audience Development, and collaborate with Editorial and Sales & Marketing teams to share content and audience insights, so we’re always connecting with our community in thoughtful ways that resonate. You’ll partner with these orgs to drive new revenue streams from email via shoppability and brand partner inclusions.

You’re obsessed with email and savvy with segmentation, personalization, and acquisition tactics, and you have strong knowledge of paid media to drive list conversion and other strategic business KPIs.
Develop an always-on email strategy to drive email list growth and engagement
Deliver weekly stakeholder reporting on email campaign and channel performance against reach, traffic, engagement, and revenue KPIs
Brainstorm and launch welcome series, re-engagement tactics, and new email offerings
Launch and develop email acquisition programs, such as sweepstakes, content partnerships, and other innovative subscriber growth tactics
Assist with ESP migration and personalization efforts
Execute branded email extensions, layering in channel-specific best practices to optimize performance
Provide insights and performance reporting to Sales/Marketing teams for ad partner campaigns
Execute paid and organic tactics to drive email subscriber growth
Develop and implement email segmentation and personalization tactics
Deploy email sends across Pride titles, ensuring strong click-through rate, click-to-open rates and deliverability
Help us launch new email affiliate and ad revenue products
3+ years of experience driving email marketing for high-growth businesses, with a proven track record of delivering growth against KPIs
Flexible, responsive, self-starter attitude with strong attention to detail and solutions-oriented instincts. You must be organized, positive, collaborative, and resourceful.
Deep understanding of ESPs and their activation capabilities - including Maripost, SailThru, Silverpop, Responsys, and/or Listrak
Ability to synthesize data and trends into actionable insights, and influence best practices across cross-functional teams
A passion for our audience, with a desire to optimize email experience
Experience working cross-functionally with all levels of management, internally and externally
