Job Description
AZZ has an exciting opportunity for a Financial Reporting Analyst at our corporate headquarters in Fort Worth. Reporting to the Manager of Financial Reporting, this role supports the preparation of financial reports and regulatory filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
This position is ideal for an early-career accounting or finance professional interested in gaining experience in public company reporting, financial analysis, and corporate accounting. The Financial Reporting Analyst will assist with SEC filings, financial statement support schedules, journal entries, account reconciliations, and various corporate accounting projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation of periodic SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, and Proxy Statements for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
- Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for external financial reporting.
- Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations to help ensure the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger.
- Assist with preparation of periodic census and compliance reports.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial data needed for external reporting.
- Perform tie-outs and variance analysis related to financial reporting schedules.
- Assist with ad hoc analyses and special projects supporting the Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting team.
Qualifications
- 1+ years of public accounting or relevant accounting experience preferred (internships may be considered).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (preferred but not required).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
