Job Description

AZZ has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Control Specialist at our Crowley Powder Coating plant. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for routine inspections of standard parts, units, equipment, and materials while following quality procedures. This is a small office environment, and you’ll get an opportunity to assist EHS functions when needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Verifies proper surface preparations and pretreatments are performed prior to coating. Verify coating applications meet the technical specifications (thickness, adhesion, finish) through visual inspections, MEK Solvent Rub Tests, and Cross-Hatch adhesion testing.
  • Produces quality inspection reports as needed.
  • Performs periodic audits to ensure established standards of quality are maintained.
  • Will assist or facilitate plant EHS functions as instructed by management.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ experience required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication for both internal and external engagement
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required
  • Must be able to work on-site.

Minimum Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 preferred but not required.
