Job Description

General Summary:

The primary focus of the Sales Engineer position is quoting new work, quoting repeat work, performing contract review on purchase orders, and to follow sales, engineering departmental work instructions and guidelines.  This directive is to meet current and future PAC sales and financial objectives.

Essential duties:  (highlights, not exhaustive list)

1. New & Repeat part/project quoting.  Research, build, develop complete quotes following SCR-001 and SCR-003 work instructions and guidelines

2. Contract Review.  Perform contract review on new and repeat purchase orders per SCR-002 work instructions and guidelines

3. Sales engineering tasks/processes.  Perform sales engineering tasks in support of new/repeat projects, for example: adding parts to sales tracker, creating working folders, obtaining quotes for outside services and raw material, etc.

4. Engineering support tasks.  Assist with engineering tasks, PFMEA, PPAP, part design/process, tool design, fixture design, process setup and flow, material requirements or options, APQP tasks, APQP project launch meetings, etc.

5. Meet PAC sales, performance, and financial objectives.  Meet yearly PAC financial objectives, monthly fundamental five initiative, meet quoting performance for new and repeat work

6. Understand safety and ergonomic requirements

7. Comply with all PAC policies. 

8. Align with PAC Vision, Mission, and Values

Qualifications

Suggested qualifications:

1.  Four-year degree in engineering or a combination of professional and technical training and experience

2.  Five to ten years prior experience related to essential duties described above and below

3.  Strong working knowledge of common engineering theory, operations, and methods

4.  Strong working knowledge of machining, manufacturing, quality systems.  This includes all types of machine equipment, manual or CNC.  This includes but is not limited to, mills, lathes, EDM’s, presses, 3, 4, 5-axis machines, grinding, honing, deburring.

5.  Strong working knowledge of custom tool, fixture, gage design to assist engineering

6.  Strong interpersonal, collaboration and both verbal and written communication skills

7.  Eligibility to work with sensitive controlled data and materials according to ITARs policy and practice

8.  Basic knowledge of MS Windows 

9.  Advanced knowledge of the MS Office Package including Excel, Word.   

10. Advanced working knowledge with engineering related software including CAD, CAM, Gantt Timing Plans.

11.  Able to read/write English

12.  Valid drivers’ license

 

Physical requirements:

1.  This is a position that operates in an office, but requires significant shop floor interaction, observation and activity

2.  Satisfactory scheduled eye examinations as required by procedures

3.  Successful completion of a medical exam and drug screening required prior to employment at PAC
