Job Description

The purpose of this position is to support the Quality Department’s ability to achieve its goals.  This includes accurately and timely auditing of company process, incoming material, work-in-process and customer shipments to achieve PAC Quality and Business objectives and to comply with AS 9100 standards.  This also includes designing and facilitating processes and procedures to ensure optimum quality during the work flow process, including adherence to AS 9100 standards.  

Essential Duties:  The following is a list of the general duties performed in this position.  It is not meant to be an exhaustive list.

1.      Complete QT II duties across all parts in the PAC book of business.

2.      Identify and communicate customer product quality standards.

3.      Perform a variety of studies and analysis to validate product quality to confirm the product or process meets and/or exceeds internal and customer requirements.  This can include Cpk, Initial Product Layout, MSA and/or Creation of IPIs.

4.      Compile documentation and prepare the PPAP package, following customer or company standard format.

5.      Investigate, problem solve and answer customer quality concerns.  Coordinate, and upon conclusion, close the problem resolution process.   Review corrective actions, both internal and external to verify resolution.  Close upon verified completion.

6.      Conduct the following tasks as needed; FAIR, 1st/Last Piece Inspection, Incoming and Final Inspection.

7.      Train, guide and develop Quality Department staff and internal operations associates in quality standards and methodology, including but not limited to Metrology and the proper sample submission and customer quality requirements.

8.      Travel to customer or vendor locations.

9.      Perform process audits including AS9100 conformance audits and follow-up with corrective actions.

10.  Become fully cross trained in supporting all Operations departments.

11.  Perform the essential duties of the other Quality Department team members as needed.

12.  Comply with all PAC policy.

Qualifications

  1. Specific quality related education or training; Associates Degree in a Quality or an Engineering related program or equivalent training and experience.
  2. ASQ CQT certification required.
  3. 8 – 12 minimum years successful prior essential duty related experience in aerospace quality engineering.  Experience in an aerospace precision machining environment preferred.
  4. Specific knowledge of quality theory, systems, operations and methods.  This includes statistical process control, capability studies, gaging methods and GD&T.
  5. Specific knowledge of AS 9100 standards.
  6. Communication skills to customer contact standards.
  7. Ability to read/write English.
  8. Ability to perform advanced math functions including statistics.  This includes the application of SPC and process capability.
  9. Excellent computer skills.
  10. Valid driver’s license.
  11. Eligibility to work with sensitive controlled data and materials according to ITARs policy and practice.
