Job Description

The Asphalt Laborer is a member of our outside plant division, is directed by the Construction Foreman, accountable to ensure accuracy related to tasks and follow all policies and procedures related to safety, quality and production.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Clean and prepare construction and work areas to eliminate potential hazards.
- Assist crew members with asphalt, pavement maintenance, and roadwork activities as required.
- Assist with the preparation, placement, spreading, and finishing of asphalt and pavement materials.
- Operate hand tools and basic power tools used for asphalt and pavement repair and maintenance.
- Assist with crack sealing, pavement repair, surface preparation, and related asphalt applications.
- Assist with the operation, loading, unloading, and preparation of melters, kettles, and other asphalt application equipment.
- Assist with measuring, marking, cutting, and preparing pavement surfaces for repair or treatment.
- Assist with excavation, trenching, grading, filling, and compacting soil or aggregate as required.
- Assist with the handling and placement of conduit, cables, and other construction materials.
- Maintain tools and equipment and report any damaged or unsafe equipment.
- Perform daily site clean-up and properly dispose of construction materials and debris.
- Assist with traffic control and maintain safe work areas around vehicles, equipment, and the public.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must always comply with proper safety standards/procedures and work practices while operating equipment according to Pramira’s safety standards.Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years old, have a valid driver license with clean driving record
- Previous general construction, asphalt, pavement maintenance or roadwork experience preferred.
- Experience with crack sealing, pavement repair, asphalt application or similar materials is a plus.
- Ability to operate a melter or kettle used for heating and applying pavement preservation materials.
- Ability to safely load, unload, prepare and secure the melter or kettle for daily transportation, as the equipment is loaded and towed to and from job sites every day.
- Comfortable working in outdoor environments involving dirt, dust, high temperatures and hot materials.
- Ability to operate basic hand and power tools and assist with construction equipment.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting materials, working outdoors, and standing for extended periods.
- Familiarity with construction site safety, PPE, heat exposure precautions and traffic control procedures.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a crew.
- Willingness to learn Maxwell Products' specific application methods, equipment operation and safety requirements.
- Must pass a Drug Test & Background Check
Additional Information
Pay range: $22-$27/hr. DOE
