As a Senior Data Scientist, you will work as a member of an Analytics Project Team to generate high-value business insights on transformational, analytical projects. In addition, you will:
•Work with multiple large, complex, diverse data sets and perform appropriate analytical methodology to provide insights and decision modeling for the specified projects.
•Create and implement algorithms which manage the data to enable it to be analyzed in an efficient manner and to enable repeatability.
•Create and develop new data and analytic applications through research, modeling and advanced analytics.
•Lead the identification of the required data sources.
•Lead the working relationship with the relevant business area. Lead the communication of derived insights in a manner easily understandable by business partners, especially through appropriate visualization techniques.
•Proactively stay up-to-date with the latest appropriate analytical techniques and recommend these where needed, especially from academia.
•Explain implementation and usage in business terms. Work closely with the Data Infrastructure teams to ensure data is modeled efficiently and in such a way to facilitate the required analytics.
•Proactively apply analytical techniques to prospect for business insights and find patterns in data which could be valuable for the business.
•Act as technical specialist for IT Domain management for all matters concerning analytical techniques.
•Play a lead role in assessing third party analytical offerings.
•Play a lead role in advancing the business transformation of the Enterprise through analytics, for example through discussions with the Analytics Leadership Team (ALT).
The skills and attributes you possess include:
•5 + years of experience applying statistical analyses and analytical methodologies on advanced analytics projects, with the ability to demonstrate the development of algorithms and predictive models to solve business issues.
•2 + years of experience working on cross-functional/divisional projects.
•Experience with current analytical platforms and be able to utilize these fully independently.
•Highly proficient command of the programming languages SQL, SAS, R, Python, Spark
•Theoretical knowledge and practical experience in statistical and analytical techniques together with the development of predictive models and machine learning algorithms.
•Working knowledge of Heavy Machinery product lines and the types of data available for each
•Knowledge of the manufacturing processes as well as Marketing and Customer Support processes
•Ability to communicate complex analytical insights in a manner which is clearly understandable by the business partners.
•Experience with and ability to integrate unstructured data sets.
•Experience with Machine Learning techniques
•Experience with natural language processing
• Experience in Big data solutions, such as Hadoop, AWS
- Ideally, you will have a Master’s Degree in a relevant study area such as mathematics, statistics or advanced analytics
