Job Description

Sample Duties:

Electrician

·         Installs, maintains, and is knowledgeable about wiring, control panels and other electrical components as needed.

·         Tests and repairs circuit connections

·         Inspect various locomotive parts, and report issues when needed to GM

·         Performs final inspection process to ensure compliance with company standards

·         Use of hand tools and equipment to perform job duties

·         Adheres to appropriate work instructions in the completion of duties

·         Regulates and maintains storage batteries

·         Perform daily servicing, cleaning and repairs of machines when required

Mechanic

·         Assemble / disassemble parts as directed

·         Qualify mechanical devices in operation

·         Performs modifications as  required

·         May assist electricians in performing electrical maintenance duties.

·         Diagnosing, repairing and maintaining equipment

·         Analyzing , Testing and repairing mechanical systems

·         Inspect  components to ensure each part is with in specifications

·         Use hand tools and specialize equipment to perform duties

·         Uses micrometers, assorted hand tools, assorted air tool and power tools

We are also looking for experienced Sandblast Technicians for our locomotive shop. Will train the right candidate but experience is preferred in either automotive or heavy-duty industrial work.

Requirements

 

  • Must be reliable and self-motivated.  
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and speed, good work ethic and enthusiasm to learn all aspects of the locomotive repair, ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work in a changeable temperature environment.
  • Experience preferred.
