Job Description
As the Supply Chain Lead, you will be responsible for designing, monitoring and implementing the supply chain strategy to improve efficiency and cost optimization while securing high quality materials. You will keep track of logistics and maintain an updated inventory. You will also collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure all operations (e.g. procurements, EPC contracts, shipping, delivery) meet quality and safety standards. You will work closely with the Project Execution Team to ensure all engineering and operational activities. You will report to the Country Manager, while working closely with the Supply Chain Team in the Supporting Business Unit in Nairobi, Kenya.

What You’ll Make Happen:
- Plan and implement the overall supply chain strategy
- Interface with the Support Business Unit Supply Chain Team
- Collaborate with project execution, operations and maintenance, Customer Service and all teams in the business unit to generate BOMs and see to procurement, as required
- Preparation and execution of RFPs and RFQs related to: Solar Equipment (including, but not limited to, PV modules, inverters, racking equipment, transformers and MV equipment, cables, etc.) in line with best practices.
- Supply Chain and Procurement document control / database management
- Issuance of purchase orders and material release orders
- Day-to-day supplier communications
- Work with finance, business development and project execution teams to determine best vendors and distributors
- Build and maintain good relationships with vendors
- Receive competitive quotations and handle negotiations with vendors
- Process importation of materials within set timelines
- Ensure cost optimization across all supply chain processes by getting the best quality at the best prices
- Ensure compliance with all government regulations on importation
- Deliver materials to required locations and/or teams within project timelines
- Engage vendors on warranty and/or refunds by implementing proper product monitoring systems within the product warranty timeframe
- Track the key supply chain KPIs
- Creation and execution of logistics plans with suppliers, contractors and transportation companies
- Suggest solutions for process improvements by identifying process bottlenecks and implementing solutions in a timely manner

- Adherence to set procurement, logistics and project schedules
- >90% current price list for major project materials
- >98% inventory and equipment tracking accuracy through monthly stock taking
- 90% critical process improvement per work year
- Updated Vendor Repository per set target on vendor management
- Cost reduction on EPC Contracts
- 0% inventory write-off rate
- Other metrics that may be set by you, your Line Manager or the Company
Qualifications
What You Already Have:
- 5 - 6 years experience working in Supply Chain
- First degree in Business Management, Finance, Supply Chain Management or similar / relevant field
- Hands-on experience with Enterprise Resource Planning management software (such as Odoo, Netsuite, SAP MM, AP Modules, SAP Plant Maintenance, etc.)
- Excellent negotiation skills
