In Sierra Leone, we develop, engineer, finance and operate mini-grids in rural communities, aiming to provide reliable electricity to more than 12,500 customers and contribute sustainably to Sierra Leone’s economic development through increased access to rural clean energy resources; and also increase the country’s energy capacity.
Job Description
List of Responsibilities
You’ll troubleshoot, perform checks and maintenance on minigrids (solar PV systems and distribution network) which will include working on PV arrays, inverters, electrical components, cabling,; LV/MV distribution lines with smart meters.
Proactively responding to on-site technical issues which are beyond the capability of the on-site Technician and reporting unresolved issues which affect generation and distribution assets immediately to Cluster assistant
Carry out periodic and routine tasks and functions, and providing detail reports to the cluster assistant
Monitoring on-site technicians to ensure that daily, weekly and Monthly activities are carried out in an effective, safe and time efficient manner
When dealing with unexpected issues, you should establish a comprehensive understanding of the issues through detailed fact-finding and implement an established procedure for correcting issues in a timely fashion. All unplanned maintenance activities should always be based on thorough root cause analysis to ensure that the failure does not re-occur.
Manage spare stock level in cluster and provide reports to Cluster assistant
Provide periodic reports on generator status’, guarantee fuel security and ensuring that routine service is done appropriately and timely.
Ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies, procedures, objectives and regulations and the commitment to achieving Zero Harm through safe behaviours on site.

Qualifications
Sierra Leonean citizenship and must have had experience working in Sierra Leone
Valid MotorCycle riders’ License.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Enthusiasm in working for the field of renewable energy!
A minimum WASCCE (WAEC) Certificate. Technical certificate or Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering from a recognised technical institution a plus
