Applicants should be inspirational leaders who have walked the walk, such as a cruise director or a senior manager for another entertainment-led company. You will manage, grow, and run the entertainment function, ensuring high-quality entertainment all year round.

Job Description

At Potters Resorts Hopton on Sea, you will have the opportunity to manage and grow our dynamic entertainment function. Your role will oversee a team of entertainers and your ultimate aim will be to deliver FUN to our Guests 24/7!

Working closely with the Resort Senior Management Team, the Creative Producer, and the overall Entertainment Management Team, including Tech Crew Manager and Programme & Entertainment Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the entertainment department, including, but not limited to:

  • Leadership and Team Empowerment: Lead, coach and inspire a team of approximately 42, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration and exceptional Customer service. Demonstrate a proven ability to lead diverse teams and develop the team to reach their full potential. Previous team management experience is essential.

 

  • Exceptional Guest Experience: Continuously monitor guest feedback and insights, using data-driven approaches to enhance the entertainment experience. Ensure that every interaction, performance, and entertainment activity reflects the resort’s commitment to outstanding customer service.

 

  • Entertainment Excellence: Showcase a passion for entertainment by delivering diverse, engaging entertainment to the highest standards. Play a pivotal role in developing and evolving entertainment offerings that captivate our guests, in close liaison with the Creative Producer.

 

  • Commercial and Financial Acumen: Apply strong commercial acumen to optimise the entertainment department’s performance by managing budgets, and aligning with business objectives. Demonstrate a proven track record of managing P&L performance while delivering high-quality entertainment experiences.

 

  • Hands-On, Visible Leadership: Lead from the front, providing practical support and guidance to your team day to day ensuring seamless execution of entertainment within a fast-paced, multi-functional environment.

 

  • Proactive Problem-Solving: Address any operational challenges and guest concerns with confidence and efficiency, implementing solutions that align with the resort’s commitment to excellence and guest satisfaction.

 

  • Talent Development and Performance Management: Utilise exceptional well-honed people management skills to mentor and motivate team members. Identify individual strengths and areas for growth, provide constructive feedback, and facilitate ongoing development through regular reviews and coaching.

 

  • People-Centred Approach: Foster a positive and inclusive team culture, recognising achievements, encouraging collaboration, and supporting well-being. Ensure all team members feel valued, motivated, and empowered to deliver their best.

 

  • Communication and Collaboration: Build and maintain strong working relationships with the Resort Management Team and Creative  Producer. Promote a one-team ethos by collaborating with other departments to deliver seamless guest entertainment experiences.

 

  • Health, Safety, and Compliance: Ensure that all entertainment activities adhere to health and safety regulations, safeguarding both guests and team members while maintaining compliance with industry standards.

Application Process:

As part of the application process, candidates who make it through the two-stage interview will spend a day with the resort Entertainment Manager. This will allow you to see what we are all about and ensure we are a good fit for each other.

Additionally, final stage candidates will be asked to complete an online psychometric test and provide references from a previous employer where they held a similar role.

This is a full-time role, five days out of seven, with hours determined by the needs of the business. In reality, you will need to build a strong management team below you and work closely with the resort management team to ensure you achieve a healthy work-life balance.
