Contract Type: Permanent
The Clinical Engineering service is looking to fill a vacancy that exists for a Band 2 Support Worker in their Medical Equipment Library (MEL) team. This is a small team within Clinical Engineering based on F Level at QA Hospital. This is a busy, hands-on role looking after a large, diverse range of medical equipment used throughout a busy NHS Trust.
This role in the MEL is key, it can be physically demanding and involves the supply, tracking and retrieval of a wide variety of equipment loans and general medical devices from around the Hospital. Accuracy and record keeping are key as is a wish to provide a good service and to help and support others. Once collected the equipment often needs inspecting, cleaning and processing to get it ready to use to go out again and be used by another Department. The MEL works closely with the technical teams within the wider Clinical Engineering department.
Full training will be provided but applicants must be able to demonstrate they can work well either independently or as part of a small team. You must be IT literate, physically active and also keen to help.
In return for working here you will be supported with your own training and development needs. The Trust has numerous opportunities to help you develop further and these will be fully supported where possible. Additional benefits are generous annual leave, starting with 27 days plus bank holidays, enrolment into the NHS pension scheme, and NHS discount offers. The role is full time on a Monday to Friday basis (37.5 hours). If you believe this is the role for you, we strongly encourage you to apply.
