We are looking to recruit to our Production Supervisor that will cover the twilight shift (16:00-00:30 Monday-Friday)
The Hospital Sterilization & Disinfection Unit is a critical background support service focused on the cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of reusable surgical instruments and medical devices used in patient care and treatment.
Experience in training and supervision roles in Decontamination services is desirable but not essential. Development will be given to the successful applicant enabling them to gain skills in leadership roles.
Job Summary
- To participate in the provision of a specialised decontamination of medical devices service contributing to the clinical care of the patient.
- To supervise a team in the Decontamination Sciences Department to ensure the team objectives are achieved.
- To ensure Departmental Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to by all Decontamination Scientific and technical staff in accordance with Quality Management Systems.
- To perform a full range of decontamination duties, managing Decontamination records in own areas of work and providing a high quality and timely service to all customers.
Due to this roles shift pattern the whole shift will receive unsocial hours payment of plus 30%

Qualifications
- NVQ3 equivalent level of knowledge and training plus additional theoretical or applied training to diploma equivalent level in specialist decontamination sciences and supervisory management
Experience
- Experience in all sections of decontamination department
- Experience of supervising decontamination staff and processes
- Experience using decontamination equipment
Skills and Knowledge
- Understands the concept and management of urgent /priority medical devices and non-conformances
- Extensive knowledge of medical device decontamination processes
- Can demonstrate the ability to work to strict standards of quality and safety
- Ability to recognise and monitor parameters of quality, accuracy according to departmental procedures
- Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems and electronic tracking systems for medical devices
