Salary: £24,402 - £26,977 per annum

Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Specialist Centre Manager- Temporary Contract to cover Maternity Leave for 12 months

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, inspirational nurse or AHP leader within the Macmillan  Information & Support Centre.

We are looking for an innovative, caring and committed individual who can work closely with Macmillan and the hospital trust to deliver services that patients and carers require for their health and wellbeing and psychological health.

The Macmillan Centre is a walk-in cancer information and support centre with a welcoming and non-clinical environment based at Queen Alexandra Hospital. We aim to provide support and information for anyone affected by cancer, offering practical ways of enhancing physical, psychological and emotional well-being of people.

This is a role working closely with the Senior Nursing Team to provide leadership and management of the Macmillan Centre, support and advice for the Cancer Services Team and provide advanced level special support & cancer information to clients and carers.

The role requires a highly visible, engaging, professional nurse or AHP leader with a background in Cancer Care who will enhance and challenge traditional models of care and deliver new transformational ways of working, striving to improve patient experience, quality and outcomes for patients.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience

  • Current RN, RMN registration with NMC or Allied Health Professional Equivalent.
  • BSc Degree in relevant field  (Desirable -  Masters degree and evidence of working towards) 
  • Significant demonstrable experience within specialty with evidence of professional development.
  • Post Reg. qualifications for specialist area
  • Leadership development programme
  • Teaching qualification /experience  with an accredited NMC mentorship course
  • Evidence of change management with relevant management/leadership course
  • Evidence of developing policy, guidelines and managing resources
  • Counselling and research awareness
  • Clinical supervision – where applicable monthly attendance
