We are seeking an enthusiastic, forward-thinking Consultant with a passionate interest in contributing to the development of all the facets of what GIM can offer patient care, to join our current consultant team. Recruitment to these posts will support the ongoing development of General Internal Medicine in Portsmouth including further developing integrated short stay pathways alongside our large Acute Medicine Unit, improving seven-day services and increasing our involvement in research.

In addition to patient care, training is an important part of life within the GIM department. We are lucky to have a large number of trainees from a range of training programmes for whom we provide clinical and educational supervision, assessments and regular teaching sessions. We are also developing our alternative medical workforce with the introduction of Medical Technicians and Advanced Clinical Practitioners.

Should a candidate with a single CCT in General Internal or Acute Medicine desire to develop a specialty interest, annualised contracts are available to provide the scope for this, and many of our specialty colleagues have expressed an interest to aid in your development.
