We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Band 6 Associate Clinical Nurse Specailist to join our small team.   This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who wants to make a difference to the lives of individuals living with cancer. We are looking for someone who looking for a new challenge and wants to expand their skills in this challenging but rewarding field of Nursing.   • As an HPB and NET Cancer Associate Nurse Specialist the post holder will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team within the Upper Gastrointestinal Specialty. They will deliver specialist nursing advice as a clinical expert to support and facilitate high quality individualised care to patients, relatives and carers in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team to all patients diagnosed with HPB and NET malignancies in line with local and national targets
  • An autonomous practitioner, responsible for the assessment, primary and/or secondary diagnosis, management and evaluation of treatment and/or care for a caseload of patients.
  • Co-ordinate and implement an overall strategy of evidence-based care for a caseload of patients
  • Support the lead CNS to ensure the clinical multidisciplinary team deliver a safe, effective, responsive, caring and well-led service where compassion is embedded and a positive patient experience is achieved.
  • Provide strong professional clinical skills and act as a professional role model.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Current RN with NMC and any other relevant post registration qualifications.
  • Evidence of understanding of the challenges required for a Cancer CNS role and the need to access personal support strategies to maintain resilience.
  • Counselling and research awareness.
  • Evidence of managing a caseload or care group in a clinical setting with multidisciplinary working.

Desirable

  • Demonstrable experience within specialty with evidence of professional development.
  • BSc Degree in relevant field.
  • Teaching qualification /experience  with an accredited NMC mentorship course.
