Are you looking for an exciting career?  Would you like to join a fantastic hardworking team and be able to follow a career path?  Here at Portsmouth Hospital University Trust we are recruiting to our expanding Pharmacy team!  We are very lucky to have settled into a larger brand-new premises based on site within QA Hospital and therefore seeking more Pharmacy Support Assistants within our Dispensary team. 

Your day will be occupied with various tasks – primarily the role will involve ordering, labelling and receiving Pharmacy stock which is supplied to our many wards and departments.
You will support the pharmacy and medicines services to patients and other professional healthcare teams. this can be by manning the reception area of pharmacy, dispensing duties using our fantastic new robot and automated cabinets and emergency box preparation.
Be expected to support ordering, receiving, maintaining and supplying stock medicines for Pharmacy areas and/or agreed wards.
Receive prescriptions and any other pharmaceutical work appropriate to the level of training, knowledge and experience, in order to participate in the safe and effective delivery of pharmacy services across the Trust. 

This is a busy, varied role, based within a large diverse team providing medicines to over 1000 inpatients, clinics and outpatients every day.  You will have excellent opportunities to learn and fully utilise your strong organisation skills and great communication ability daily, where you will be making a direct impact to the rest of the Pharmacy team and patients too.  As you will be handling large boxes etc, physical fitness is a must; it is not a sit at a desk job and involves walking, lifting etc so perfect for those who love to be on the go! Qualifications

Qualifications
Essential
•    Level 2 qualification/GCSE (4 - 9, C - A*) or work experience that demonstrates comparable ability in a similar field.

Desirable

  • Level 2 qualification/GCSE (4 - 9, C - A*) in maths, English and a science, or equivalent qualifications
  • Pharmacy services Assistant apprenticeship or equivalent to meet the requirements of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)

Skills and Knowledge
