Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity to come and join the team in Urology outpatients. The nursing team carry out the vast majority of all investigations including flexible cystoscopy, prostate biopsies, urodynamics, intravesical therapies for bladder conditions and a rapid access service for minor urological conditions.
We all support each other but you will also be working your own case load of patients in individual clinic rooms.

Qualifications
Essential
• RN (Adult) or RGN registration with NMC and any other relevant post registration .
• Educated to first degree or equivalent experience, with a view to working towards master’s Qualification History Taking & Physical Assessment Course.
Desirable
• Mentorship qualification
• ALERT course.
Skills, Knowledge, & Experience
Desirable
• Male catheterisation
• Supra pubic catheterisation (established tract)
• Nephrostomy care including changing of long-term tubes.
• Cannulation
• Venepuncture
• ECG monitoring and interpretation.
• IRMER course
• All aspects of urostomy care
• Competencies in history taking and physical assessment.
• Effective leadership and team building skills.
• Articulate and knowledgeable in current health care issues
• Ability to develop, plan and implement short- and long-range goals.
• Ability to make clinical decisions and judgements.
• Teaching ability (formal and informal)
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Research and audit awareness and willingness to undertake research and audit Critical appraisal skills.
• In-depth knowledge in sub speciality of Urology, in relation to provide outpatient clinic support or be autonomous within that clinic e.g.: flexible cystoscopy, prostate assess stone.
• Ability to interpret image: AXR, CXR, CT.
