Working within our busy department under the guidance of the Access Manager you will be expected to prioritise your own workload, have the ability to work on your own initiative as well as work within the team with the ultimate aim of providing our patients with the best possible patient experience
The post holder will need to have good computer and communication skills, as well as being a team player and have an ability to use their own initiative.
You will require proficiency in MS Office. An enthusiastic, proactive approach to the role will be warmly welcomed. The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week) worked Monday to Friday. If this sounds just what you are looking for then we would genuinely love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- To supervise, the day-to-day running of the administrative and clerical functions of the MSK Access Team.
- To assist in the smooth running of the Orthopaedic services in the Outpatient and Fracture Clinics
- To perform regular data quality and validation duties to maintain clean data and to provide assistance in completing the weekly waiting list summary.

- Education to NVQ III or relevant equivalent experience

- Experience of working in a healthcare environment, preferably in a department providing direct patient care eg Fracture / Orthopaedic Clinic / inpatient waiting list office.
- Waiting list management experience

- Managerial / supervisory experience
Skills and Knowledge
Essential
- Working knowledge of waiting list management systems, waiting times and out-patient booking procedures.
- Working knowledge of out-patient clinic preparation and delivery
- The ability to work using own initiative and without supervision.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer & keyboard skills
- Working knowledge of a Patient Administration System
- Working knowledge of MS Office, including e-mail and Excel
Desirable
- Understanding of medical terminology, particularly orthopaedic.
