We are seeking expressions of interest from talented individuals that have experience working within the legal and justice sector. You may already be fully trained and working in a design role within justice or you could be someone who has a vast amount of subject matter knowledge but seeking to evolve your career towards design. You may have already worked with Portable as a client or have met us around the justice sector.

At Portable, we work on products that are reimagining the way in which people experience government and a great portion of that work is in the justice sector.

The right candidate will work side by side our senior team to help research, explore and design products and services in the justice sector. You'll work with organisations such as the Fair Work Ombudsman, Magistrates Courts of Victoria, the Office for Public Prosecutions and the Department of Premier and Cabinet to use your knowledge to help make change. You’ll tackle complex systems, and use your knowledge, experience and tools to develop intuitive, accessible and easy-to-use stories and prototypes that interface the web and physical world. 

You’ll have clearly demonstrable experience in Design Thinking and Human Centred Design and use these skills to lead workshops, develop user stories, conduct user research, cultivate insights and oversee the design of customer experiences. If you don't have these skills, we'll train you with on the job training as well as certified training with other education providers.

You’ll also share the some of the same values as our team: Portable was recently awarded B Corp status and works with organisations and individuals looking to make a positive impact in the world.

Responsibilities

• Lead and champion service design and user research within the organisation
• Interface with the justice sector, key stakeholders and end users to host a range of design led workshops, strategy sessions
• Conduct research, chart user stories, conceptualize design outputs, create prototypes and effectively communicate these internal and external stakeholders
• Develop high level documentation to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas

• 3+ years experience working in justice.
