Job Description

Job Summary: An experienced EHR Technical Lead who thoroughly understands EHR ecosystem and acts as the technical product owner for the Clinical Applications team. PopHealthCare is implementing the Netsmart MyAvatar EHR and PM product suite. 

The position will be a key team member driving successful roll out, adoption and continual enhancements to the product as the usage grows in the organization and business needs change or require customized functionality to maximize use of the application(s). The team member will influence key decisions on roll out of new features, functionality, integration and enhancements.
Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with the business and clinical leadership to understand / influence requirements, demonstrate understanding of cross - functional / cross - domain requirements and impact.
  • Assist project management with level of effort estimation and management of new development and enhancements for the NetSmart / MyAvatar suite of applications
  • Ability to design and architect solutions to help satisfy growing business and clinical needs.
  • Drive solution discovery sessions and create detail solution documents for the technology development team to execute.
  • Serve as a liaison between business, clinical, vendor and internal technology organizations to drive successful implementation of the EHR.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and emerging product features / trends related to Netsmart product suite.
  • Review vendor driven product updates/ releases, manage internal release cycle for keeping product version/ configuration current.
  • Forward Plan the release windows and cycles across the portfolio
  • Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality
  • Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and within budget, and that they meet or exceed expectations
  • Coordinate release content and effort based on the enhancement/change request backlog, pending requests, third party applications, or operating system updates
  • Drive setting up of policies and procedures for version control, release management, configuration changes for the EHR.
  • Lead implementation team of technical and functional BAs, Developers, QA, Clinical Analysts to develop custom EHR functionality as per requirements
  • Advises team on solving technical issues, answer questions about core product functionality and capabilities.
  • Guide developers on following development best practices, perform design reviews, code reviews and provide review comments/ recommendations to improve design and quality of code
  • Guide development workflow for implementing new features and enhancements

 

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • BS degree in computer science, management of information systems, or related field.
  • 10+ years experience in Healthcare IT working on EMR/EHR implementations as Technical project manager, technical product owner, architect.
  • 5+ years as a technical architect driving solutions, customization's and development effort for enhancing core product to meet organization's unique needs.
  • 5+ years of full - life-cycle application development experience
  • 5+ years of integration experience with EMR systems for custom and industry standard data exchange standards (HL7 / CCD / CCDA etc.) and transport protocols (SFTP / DIRECT etc.)
  • 5+ years of programming experience in webservices/.net/crystal reports/ SQL
  • Deep understanding of industry patterns for application architecture and integration Agile development experience
  • Prior experience with Netsmart MyAvatar EHR highly preferred with experience in implementing scriptlink, webservices, APIs, crystal reports, and/or custom widgets.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (oral and written) to shape messages to the appropriate level of audience. Ability to connect with all stakeholders and deliver expected results.
  • Ability to identify, access and resolve complex business problems/issues/risks and facilitate issue resolution and risk mitigation
  • Strong interpersonal negotiation skills, ability to lead teams to consensus
  • Ability to understand complex business flows
  • Experience producing structured use cases, data-flows, process-flows, and business rules required for a clear picture of the scope.
  • Significant experience in requirements analysis techniques including structured analysis, context diagrams, data flow diagrams, entity diagrams, prototyping, use cases and functional/technical crosswalk for solutions design.
  • Team leadership or team management experience
  • Experience working with external vendors and interfacing between internal and external departments.
