Job Description

Points is looking for a Senior Manager to join our PMO in our downtown Toronto office.

The successful candidate has experience leading multiple large, complex projects concurrently and is a proven people leader who takes pride in the success of their team. You are solutions-driven with expertise in managing technology projects through cross-functional collaboration, building lasting partnerships, setting team goals and executing against strategy. You are passionate about driving positive change and growing the PMO to its next phase of growth.

Reporting to the Director of the PMO, you will be responsible for:

  • The full end-to-end ownership of 3-5 concurring projects of varying complexity and strategic importance.
  • The direct management of 2-4 project managers, overseeing their production, growth and areas of responsibility.
  • Demonstrating continuous improvement and operational excellence with clearly defined and up-to-date metrics, that roll up to company goals and objectives.
  • Collaborating closely with multiple internal stakeholders across platforms on a technical and non-technical basis to deliver high-value products to our partners.
  • Coaching and mentoring project managers on project management best practices including identifying risks, looking for timing efficiencies and ways to give our partners the best experience
  • Demonstrating expertise in both the art and science of project management across several areas including: governance, scope, risk, quality, issue management, communication and stakeholder management.
  • Producing several project management related business analysis including status reports, issue and risk logs, meeting agendas and meeting minutes.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of software implementation project management experience preferably in the ecommerce industry.
  • 5+ years of client facing experience in a technical environment with strong working knowledge of APIs and the ability to translate tech talk into business speak.
  • Proven cross-platform leadership skills with the ability to execute well under pressure.
  • Experience working in a complex, multi-project environment with a number of clients is critical in order to be successful in this role. Consulting experience would be an asset.
  • Comfortable communicating at all levels of the organization including business executives and technical experts.
  • Proven experience analyzing raw data, identifying trends and building a cohesive story is an asset
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) accreditation is an asset.
  • Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and overseas as needed to meet with partners.
  • Willingness to join late night or early morning partner meetings as needed.
