Job Description

Points is looking for a Director of Business Development to join our Points Business Development team in a permanent position based in our Singapore office.  Our main Head Office is located in Toronto and we are also closely linked to our offices in London & Dubai.

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Director, Business Development that enjoys building long term business relationships and developing new business opportunities. You will be responsible for sourcing and developing new Partnerships throughout the Asia-Pacific region with strong loyalty programs, focusing on the global travel, financial and virtual currencies sectors. You will have responsibility for negotiating and closing deals with the goal of executing formal Partnership Agreements in a timely manner with attractive revenue and margin potential.

You must possess a unique blend of business savvy, superior relationship building skills and a genuine passion for the loyalty industry and retail customer loyalty programs.

Reporting to the Regional Director - APAC, you will be responsible for:

  • Researching, analyzing and understanding industry trends to develop and implement sales strategies and plans in key verticals
  • Identifying and establishing key loyalty program partnership opportunities based on previous experience and understanding of players in sectors that use loyalty programs
  • Managing pre-sales activities for discovery and prospecting stages such as competitive reviews, loyalty program evaluation, preparation of sales tools (collateral, sales decks, product demos etc.)
  • Sales sourcing, including both warm and cold outreach to engage business interest and opportunities to add value to partners’ goals
  • Setting up and conducting sales presentations (in person, phone, zoom, webinars) at the executive level
  • Implementing tactics to progress discussions, negotiate/close deals and execute contracts
  • Ensuring partnership deals are material to achieve and surpass revenue/margin targets
  • Detailed pipeline management, preparation of regular status reports and monthly reviews to establish regional opportunity size
  • Working with internal teams to implement new partners and act as an advocate for the new partner
  • Maintaining and fostering industry business relationships and represent Points.com at various events
  • Identifying new opportunities and complementary business models for our business to capitalize on

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years proven business development success with experience at the Director or Senior Manager level
  • Excellent negotiation skills with ability to explain value proposition of Points products and services
  • Extensive loyalty industry / reward program experience
  • Self-starter, who is assertive, persistent and resilient, goal oriented and focused on their performance to close on win/win contracts
  • Strategic thinker, highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment, both independently and as a team player
  • Relationship builder with an established network of business contacts
  • Advanced interpersonal, written & verbal communication skills – for both external and internal audiences
  • Ability to work independently with frequent travel
  • Must have a valid passport and ability to travel internationally
