- Boston, MA, USA
Ever worked on a product where the requirements were dictated to you by stakeholders? Not at Pluralsight. We believe in human-centered design, autonomous teams, and the customer breaking the tie. We work on cross-functional teams made up of Product Designers, Product Managers, and Software Engineers focused on one goal: learning from our customers and using that knowledge to decide what problems to solve and how to solve them.
The Skill IQ authoring team is focused on the tooling, process, and analytics to efficiently create our assessment content and understand its effectiveness at measuring skill. We are looking for a results-oriented Product Designer to join our team in Boston to help lead the next evolution of our assessment authoring tools. You will implement a process to learn from our users and you will use those insights to define the information architecture, interaction design, and visual design of our assessment authoring tools.
Who you are:

You are comfortable establishing and evangelizing a desired end state, or outcome, and motivating others to come along
You ask detailed and specific questions, understand nuance, and challenge conventional wisdom
You are curious, collaborative, and committed to something bigger
You care about the success of your customers
You understand how to distinguish what people ask for from what they actually need
You have an interest in improving how people learn
What you’ll own:
Using user research and human-centered design to uncover customer problems and validate solutions
Setting the outcomes with your team based on your understanding of the problem space and how it fits with the company vision
Preparing for and conducting user research along with the product manager
Creating concepts, wireframes, designs and prototypes for testing, experimentation and development
Defining the information architecture, the interactions, and the visual design
Communicating on a technical, strategic, and conceptual level to facilitate collaboration, inspire teammates, and inform internal and external stakeholders
Experience you’ll bring:
Designing modular components to be used within in a larger system
Applying a strong understanding of user research and human-centered design for internal and external customers.
Understanding systems and simplifying complex processes
Making data-driven decisions about new and existing features
