Job Description

Production Editor, Assessments are accountable for ensuring the availability of accurate, valid, and reliable assessments for current and emerging technical skills within each content pillar. They also manage the creation of course learning checks and ensure they accurately measure learner mastery of course content while supporting Course Production Associates’ and Authors’ efforts to create high-quality questions. PE-As collaborate with Acquisition Editors, Production Editor Courses, Curriculum Directors, and external contractors to source, qualify, and acquire assessment authors. They supervise the entire assessment development process while monitoring and identifying opportunities for improving assessment quality.


Reports to: Director, Assessment Production

What you'll own:

  • Manage the creation and continuous improvement of tests focused on software developers, IT operations, data, and security professionals

  • Manage and support authors throughout the test creation process, ensuring that quality standards are met efficiently and effectively

  • Monitor published test health, identifying and addressing areas for improvement on an ongoing basis

  • Plan test project processes and resource requirements

  • Identify, source, hire, and develop and maintain relationships with professional groups, associations, special interest groups, or networks of technical professionals that can contribute to test development and maintenance

  • Negotiate financial terms with test authors, manage legal contracts via DocuSign

  • Collaborate with content and product teams to ensure skill test content aligns with accompanying skill path courses

  • Create and maintain question writing guides and resources

  • Help course authors and Course Production Editors to create quality course learning checks

  • Proofread all learning checks and other assessment content before publication

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, using data to measure impact

Who you're committed to being:

  • Three to five years experience managing multiple, simultaneous projects, preferably with remote resources

  • Some knowledge of or work experience in the technical content associated with Pluralsight content divisions.

  • Experience in training & development or a related field is desired

  • The ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues, clients, consultants, and others

  • Bright, quick, structured thinker

  • The ability to thrive in a rapidly changing, ever exciting startup environment

  • A well-developed sense of ownership and accountability

  • Ability to solve complex problems and garnering support from others to do so

  • Written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to fully utilize standard office tools

  • Experience with instructional design and assessments is a plus

Experience you'll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Experience building, developing, and maintaining relationships (preferably with technical professionals)

  • Experience managing cross-functional projects

  • Self-directed, team-oriented, strong interpersonal skills

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Excellent computer skills (Mac and PC)

  • Comfortable with basic statistical concepts
