Job Description

Job Summary:

The Accounting Clerk works with the Accounting Manager and Property Managers to effectively carry out the Accounts Payable and Receivable processes.    

 

Essential Functions:

·        Perform essential accounts receivable and accounts payable processes

·        Enter vendor invoices in an accurate and timely manner

·        Receive, Record and Process cash receipts accurately

·        Facilitate accurate processing of invoice batches for weekly accounts payable cycle

·        Research and resolve discrepancies following all standard procedures and processes  

·        Perform collection calls and document feedback

·        Generate and analyze accounting reports as requested

·        Effectively communicate via telephone, email, and in-person with vendors, tenants, and owners on payable and/or receivable matters, in accordance with department processes and procedures

·        Perform all duties and responsibilities accurately and efficiently utilizing accounting system and software

·        Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Yardi Voyager 7 experience preferred

·        Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

·        College level accounting classes or 5-7 years’ relevant experience preferred

·        Proficient in Microsoft Office

·        Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced office environment

·        Experience with automated accounting systems preferred

·        Good mathematical background with strong attention to detail 

·        Organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate via phone and email effectively

·        Ability to work independently and confidentially

·        Stable verifiable job history

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Working Conditions / Physical Demands:

Working conditions and physical demands are what would be expected in a normal office environment.  Typical work schedule is Monday – Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at a minimum but that may vary depending on business needs.  The position does require extended periods of sitting and looking at a computer screen (8 hours or more per day).
