Playtech's Origins Studio is looking for a proactive Lead Game Artist / Team Lead with excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills. 

In this hands-on leadership role, you will create high-quality game artwork while leading and supporting the art team. Reporting to the Head of Art, you will work closely with the Game Producer and the wider project team to organise art production, coordinate delivery and help every artist develop and succeed.

Job Description

Your influential mission. You will... 

  • Lead and organise the art team's day-to-day work, acting as its main point of contact and representing its needs across the studio 
  • Plan, prioritise and assign art tasks with the Game Producer, setting clear expectations and realistic deadlines based on each artist's skills and capacity 
  • Track progress against agreed milestones, keep task plans up to date, and proactively resolve or escalate blockers, dependencies and delivery risks 
  • Report to the Head of Art, providing regular updates on project progress, team workload, priorities, risks and support needs 
  • Work closely with the Game Producer and the wider project team to align priorities, coordinate handovers and keep everyone informed of changes 
  • Motivate, mentor and support artists through regular check-ins, constructive feedback and practical artistic guidance, helping them improve their skills and performance 
  • Foster a caring, inclusive team environment, listen to concerns, recognise achievements and support wellbeing through balanced, sustainable workloads 
  • Produce high-quality slot game artwork, including symbols, backgrounds, game elements, logos and marketing assets 
  • Create fast, high-quality mockups to present ideas for final game designs 
  • Prepare assets for animation with an understanding of the Spine workflow 
  • Use AI tools to support faster turnaround times 
  • Learn our proprietary tool and deliver high-quality game packages to development 
  • Work closely with the development team to resolve recurring game development issues 
  • Adapt quickly to changes while meeting deadlines and maintaining the quality of the games 
  • Communicate with teammates through internal channels and actively give and receive feedback 

Qualifications

Components for success. You...

  • Have at least 5 years of experience as a Game Artist 
  • Have proven experience leading, coordinating or mentoring an art team in a game production environment 
  • Have previous experience in the iGaming or casino industry, specifically with slot games 
  • Have extensive knowledge of 2D design tools, primarily Adobe Photoshop and relevant plugins 
  • Have experience using graphic AI tools 
  • Have strong control of visual styles, effects and current trends in the gaming industry 
  • Have an upper-intermediate, conversational level of English 
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with artists, producers, developers and senior stakeholders 
  • Can plan and prioritise team workloads, delegate effectively and balance hands-on art production with leadership responsibilities 
  • Can track project progress, identify risks early and provide clear, actionable updates 
  • Are comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback and coaching others to improve 
  • Have strong problem-solving skills and an empathetic, supportive and collaborative leadership style
