Playtech's Casino Unit is looking for a Junior Game Developer comfortable with frontend technologies such as TypeScript and Pixi.js. As a team, we're passionate about growth and love taking on exciting new projects that encourage you to develop across many areas, all while aligning with business needs. We're strong advocates for high coding standards and have built a robust internal framework that underpins everything we deliver - one we're always refining and improving.

The tech we use: TypeScript, JavaScript, GSAP, Git, CI/CD, Pixi.js and other renderers and game engines (Phaser, Three.js etc.)

Job Description

Your influential mission. You will be...

  • Joining a small, supportive team that creates captivating casino games, including slots and scratch cards and maintains internal tooling to boost productivity.
  • Involved in complex debugging in medium-large scale projects
  • Translating technical concepts into plain, human-readable language
  • Designing and building thoughtful UX
  • Improving performance and optimising code
  • Thinking creatively about problems

Qualifications

Components for success. You have...

  • Solid coding fundamentals — we're not looking for you to know it all, but comfortable to understand, read and write efficient code. You will work across both games and internal tooling that keeps the team productive.
  • Strong documentation habits — this one's important; with our own tooling in the mix, clear documentation is what closes knowledge gaps across the team.
  • Clear communication — we work closely together, with regular contact with other internal teams such as art and sound designers, QA testers and developers.
  • Willingness to learn and grow — seek opportunities and find ways to improve with training and other positive methods. We have different pathways for you to specialise in — find your niche and run with it.
  • Ownership and accountability — be responsible for your own work and focus on areas which could be strengthened.
  • Kindness and empathy — since we work so closely together, we value kind, supportive and empathetic behaviour. It makes a difference when you have people you love working with.
  • Genuine curiosity — we love people who are interested in how everything fits together, not just their own corner. Whether that's understanding why a design decision was made or how the audio layer interacts with gameplay, broader curiosity makes everyone's work better.
  • Share your thoughts — we appreciate honesty and fresh thinking; we work best by bouncing thoughts off each other.
  • Open and honest — another aspect we appreciate is your ability to manage your workload. Sometimes it can be busy, but it's important to speak up when you feel your plate is full.
  • A healthy relationship with AI — we use AI tools where they make sense, but we want someone who can still do the job if they all disappeared tomorrow.

Thrive in a culture that values...

  • Initiative-taking and confident approach at the workplace
  • Global scope and inclusive working environment
  • Constant learning and development opportunities
  • Active lifestyle and mental well-being
  • Fun and engaging company events
