Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and proactive System Administrator to join our team. If you’re passionate about managing robust, secure, and efficient virtual IT infrastructures and are ready to contribute to a dynamic international environment, we’d love to hear from you.
• Administer and manage our 24/7 production virtual IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and uptime, with a primary focus on VMware technologies.
• Oversee Veeam backup solutions, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting to secure company data across virtual and physical environments.
• Support and manage SAN storage systems to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Understand and manage storage protocols, including iSCSI and Fibre Channel (FC), to facilitate efficient data access and transfer.
• Maintain and monitor network performance in virtual environments, assisting with networking tasks related to virtualization.
• Implement and monitor system security measures to protect sensitive information across all relevant environments.
• Collaborate with other IT team members to develop and execute IT projects and system upgrades effectively.
• Document system configurations, processes, and procedures to maintain accurate records.
• Provide advanced technical support, troubleshoot issues, and manage changes including patch management and disaster recovery.
• Provide remote support outside of office hours in case of major technical issues.
Qualifications
• Experience: Proven hands-on experience of at least 2 years with relevant technologies.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies, with hands-on experience in VMware.
• Proficiency in Veeam backup software and SAN storage systems.
• Understanding of storage protocols, including iSCSI and Fibre Channel (FC).
• Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux) and backup solutions.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts, with familiarity in Layer 2 (L2), Layer 3 (L3), and VLAN configurations.
• Soft Skills:
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Ability to work independently on projects from start to finish.
• Good communication skills.
• Language Skills:
• Latvian and English
• Strong English communication skills, including the ability to clearly express ideas verbally and in writing, and to communicate effectively with international colleagues and clients.
• Fluency in English is defined as the ability to communicate confidently in technical discussions, read and write detailed technical documentation, and interact professionally with diverse teams.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with cloud technologies and solutions.
• Relevant certifications are considered a plus (e.g., VMware Certified Professional, Veeam Certified Engineer).
