Psiclone Games, Playtech’s retail content development Studio is expanding its games development team. Based in our Lichfield office and working directly with the development teams you will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a wide range of people, from artists and product owners to other game developers and testers.

We are seeking a Junior HTML5 Game developer to help build new casino and online gaming content.

The Junior HTML5 Game developer will be engaged in:

• Developing cross platform games using the latest HTML5 technologies.
• Maintaining current code on live games.
• Creating core libraries to help solve common problems of game development.
• Developing modern tools to assist with the rapid creation of online games.

You will work with current code on our tools and live games portfolio, creating new games and supporting code changes driven from new regulations and new feature requests.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Developing cross platform games using the latest HTML5 technologies.
• Maintaining current code on live games.
• Creating core libraries to help solve common problems of game development.
• Developing modern tools to assist with the rapid creation of online games
• Create, maintain, and document Javascript/Typescript core libraries to help solve common aspects of Game Development.
• Build and advise on making HTML5 games with other developers
• Assist users of core libraries with training and queries.
• Working through all stages of software delivery lifecycle from requirements refinement, development, testing, release, and maintenance.
• Work with the Art and Maths teams in a continuous delivery model.

Essential skills 

• Modern web development frameworks and languages: - Javascript, Typescript
• Game development: - pixi.js or Phaser
• Ability to write efficient, clear code that is easy to maintain and test.

Desirable skills

• Real time rendering: - WebGL, OpenGL, HTML5 Canvas
• Chrome/Firefox dev tools, debugger, inspector.
• Webpack, npm.
• Version control (Git/SVN)
• Unity, GameMaker, or any other framework/engine
• Game industry experience.
• UX and UI design.
