Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a FTSE 250 Gaming Software business operating in 19 countries with a revenue of over €1.24 billion.  This is an interim position for 7 months to cover maternity leave where you will be supporting the Head of Tax in managing the corporate, transactional and withholding tax risks of the global group.

Key responsibilities

  • Interim position for 7 months to cover maternity leave.
  • Support the Head of Tax in managing the corporate, transactional and withholding tax risks of the global group.
  • Provide practical and timely advice to requests from the businesses for international tax input on their projects and plans.
  • Provide tax support for international M&A activity, including due diligence, financing, structuring and integration
  • Assistance with the tax considerations of organic international growth (e.g. new business models, new territories and new products/services)
  • Assist in managing relationships and dialogue with tax authorities.
  • Provide advice to the global business on relevant new tax laws with support from external advisers.
  • Ensure compliance with UK and cross border tax laws in conjunction with the global Finance teams including transfer pricing, local files, withholding tax and the EU mandatory disclosure regime.
  • Network across the business to ensure that the tax team are involved at an early stage of any proposed transaction and to advocate commercially focused and pragmatic tax solutions.
  • Oversee local tax compliance undertaken by the local tax advisers.

Qualifications

Experience required

  • Trained in tax with a Top 10 accountancy firm
  • ACA  or CTA qualified, or equivalent with 2 or more years post qualification         
  • The ability to build relationships across the organisation
  • This is a hands on role, a successful candidate must have proven ability to work to deadlines in a complex environment, with key skills being attention to detail and effective project management.
  • Experience of managing compliance, experience of international tax planning and structuring required.
  • Knowledge of indirect taxes and PAYE is advantageous but not essential.
