Job Description

This role supports manufacturing development activities in the initial development and production of new products to provide input, data, and learnings to these stakeholders.

This person will manage the Prototype Quality Lab, execute root cause analysis and support Design of Experiments, though tools such as Cross-Sectioning, autopsy, and other analytics and documentation.  Support will be provided to the Testing Lab to execute and document test activities in our DVP&R.

Responsibilities and Duties include

  1. Support production operation, Design Engineering, Test, & Quality department.
  2. Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  3. Adhere to corporate, federal, and state employment policies.
  4. Develop and maintain Prototype Quality Lab space and equipment.
  5. Maintain calibration of all Quality & Test equipment
  6. Engage in the company’s quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in process materials, components, processes, finished goods, and product returns
  7. Executes Designs of Experiments (DOE) for product weld development
  8. Hands-on autopsies of live Battery modules, packs, and Battery Management Systems
  9. Documents analysis & inspection results by completing reports, logs, and presentations, support engineering initiatives and quality investigations
  10. Leads root cause analysis for defects in product, supplier materials, process errors, etc,
  11. Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  12. Assist with the product returns process

Qualifications

Qualifications and Skills

 

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience operating & Lab equipment such as microscope, data & oscilloscopes, cross-sectioning
  • Solid documentation of data analysis, Design of Experiments, and analysis results
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. ERP system software knowledge a plus
  • High Voltage Electrical Safety Training
  • Ability to use tools to safely autopsy live Battery modules, packs, and Battery Management Systems
  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis using automotive 8D & Six Sigma processes
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001
