Job Description

• Interpret Aerospace Standards and Customer Requirements

• Develop SWI based on requirements

• Interface with customer, all internal departments, as well as assist with onboarding of critical outside suppliers (including assisting Quality with the vetting process)

• Support sales and design engineering with costing and mfg. criteria to capture new applications/proposals and continuous improvement initiatives of existing programs

• Create, improve, implement and maintain systems that will assure the quality and traceability of incoming materials and final products

• Develop new manufacturing methods to capture new business and drive sustaining profitability on in-house programs

• Support assembly process from design through iterative prototype builds and into production

• Support creation of assembly areas that meet customer requirements including environments and F.O.D. controls

• Develop and direct a supply chain to act as an interim prototype model shop to capture and deliver prototype requirements and meet quick turn demands

• Knowledge and implementation of customer PO flow down of contract review. 

• Translate contract requirements into processes, work instructions and tasks 

• Write acceptance testing procedures

• Develop assembly fixtures and tooling for electromechanical assembly

• Recommend and justify new capital equipment

• Support technical reviews and customer meetings

• Reports process performance against KPIs

• Hands-on support for troubleshooting of production issues

• Continuous improvement to improve OTD, customer satisfaction and quality

• Serve as a member of the safety committee to promote safety practices and procedures as well as ensure all process engineering activities are compliant with all safety regulations and policies

• Other duties as assigned


• BSME, BSMET or similar educational background

• Background in electromechanical actuation and mechanical functions desirable

• Experience in machining, grinding and metal fabrication

• Experience with soldering, electrostatic discharge control and cleanrooms desirable

• Experience with brushless DC motors desirable

• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma

• Ability to design and modify fixturing and tooling

• Excellent communication and follow-up skills

• Excellent problem-solving skills

• Ability to work with a team

• Working knowledge and implementation of quality systems and control plans

• High level of analytical ability

• Highly developed individual contributor

• Ability to travel (including internationally) as required

• Ball Screw/Bearing background desirable


• Must be proficient with Windows XP, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project

• Familiar with Dynamics 365 preferable or like operating system

• Proficiency with CAD systems, Unigraphics NX 10 desirable


• Must be a U.S. Person
