Job Summary:

The Construction Project Supervisor is responsible for planning and supervising a wide range of projects from start to finish.  They oversee projects at the site level and are responsible for assuring accuracy and quality from conception to completion.  The Construction Project Supervisor collaborates with the engineering department on projects for automation, infrastructure and process related projects spanning one to five years.

 

The Construction Project Supervisor works with the engineering department and factory personnel to define project objectives, supports budget development, bid packages, and manages assigned projects through to successful completion.  The Construction Project Supervisor also works with factory personnel to support operations, maintenance and non-capital projects.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

·        Oversee, manage and direct construction projects from start to finish.

·        Collaborate with subcontractors, engineers, architects and key team members of the project team.

·        Review project deliverables (budget, schedule, planning) and report regularly status updates.

·        Track order deliveries & installation progress with sub-contractors, approve invoices & track project costs.

·        Have knowledge of drawings, equipment cut sheets, manuals and provide to factory personnel.

·        Manage projects through structural, mechanical, electrical & instrumentation specifications.

·        Work closely with engineers to develop project equipment, building & infrastructure needs.

·        Manage to compliance for regulatory codes, practices, quality policies and performance standards.

·        Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities as required.

·        Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to provide assistance & technical support.

·        Support development of bid packages and obtain quotes for equipment purchase & installation.

·        Coordinate with support groups for environmental, safety, power and controls services for projects.

·        Provide equipment training & start up support to operators, supervisors and maintenance personnel.

 ·        Highly desired to have 7+ years industrial plant related experience in a project management role.

·        Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or Construction management preferred.

·        Alternatively extensive industrial experience of 10+ years with progressive supervisory responsibilities.

·        Ability to work with AutoCAD, drawings, PFD’s, P&ID’s and other project related documentation.

·        Knowledge of process equipment such as piping systems, boilers, turbines, pumps, heat exchangers, evaporators, centrifuges, chillers, tanks, filters, air compressors, water treatment systems and equipment unique to the sugar industry.

·        Experience with bulk material handling equipment such as belt  and screw conveyors, bucket elevators, mixers, screeners, bins, scales, packaging equipment, and explosion protection equipment.
