PPS customer is a growing battery company. 

The BMS System Senior Manager will lead a team of HW and SW engineers in the development of Battery Management Systems (BMS) for high voltage batteries.  Multiple configurations of series and parallel configurations are possible with a range of potential applications.  The candidate will need to be able to work well both in teams and individually.  Frequent cross functional communication will be critical as the team and requirements are highly dynamic.  In addition to leading the team, hands on participation in the development process is expected.

Responsibilities and Duties

·        Lead team of Hardware and Software engineers in the development of in-house developed High Voltage Battery Management System (BMS)

·        Develop and manage BMS growth plan

·        Ensure design robust to ASIL-C safety level

·        Ensure timely and quality delivery of work products

·        Ensure quality software development procedures are followed 

·        Perform Software and/or hardware development

·        Lead software design reviews.

·        Utilize knowledge of batteries and battery systems to ensure safe and robust BMS operation.

·        Work with extended team to elicit requirements from customers to ensure proper first-time execution

·        Lead BMS System DFMEA and ensure mitigation strategies are implemented and communicated.

·        Perform performance reviews for team members

The BMS System Senior Manager will lead a team of hardware and software engineers in the development of high voltage battery management systems.  The Manager will help to create a development growth plan and ensure the teams execution of the plan.  The manager will hold regular team meetings to ensure deliverables are being met in terms of both timing and quality.  In addition to leading the team, the manager will also contribute to development of software/hardware features.

The Manager will be a key enabler to the success of the organization.

·        Bachelor of Science (Masters preferred) in Controls, computer science or equivalent degree

·        >= 8 years of experience in automotive or similar electrical systems

·        Experience in Battery Management System software and controls

·        Experience with Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow (Embedded coder preferred)

·        Experience in C/C++ software development

·        Experience with CAN and CAN development tools including CANalyzer and CANbedded

·        Prefer experience in agile development processes

·        Prefer experience in schematic and PCB design software (Altium preferred)

·        Experience with High Voltage batteries and safety knowledge

·        Ability to work in a team and individually.

·        Experience with the handling high voltage systems

·        Ability to present data/solutions in clear manner easy for non-experts to understand

·        Experience with Hardware-In-the-Loop Systems

·        Ability to work in controls, software and hardware

·        Proven ability to analyze problems and find solutions.

·        Ability to develop in-house tools (preferred)
