Job Description:

• Perform all functions of heavy duty mechanic with tasks related to mechanical problems and the repair of heavy duty trucks & equipment

 Job Duties:

• Repair & maintain diesel trucks & heavy duty equipment
• Repair hydraulic components
• Diagnose and correct electrical problems
• Welding, cutting & fabricating of all equipment I& components
• Changing oil, checking & changing batteries, etc.
• Perform preventative maintenance
• Make recommendations for repairs to be made by outside sources
• Requisition parts & equipment
• Record keeping & reporting

• Knowledge of off road heavy equipment
• Knowledge of diesel engines
• Knowledge of hydraulics
• Knowledge of braking systems
• Knowledge of driveline to include clutch, flywheel, transmissions & differentials
• Knowledge of steering mechanisms & suspensions
• Mechanical skills
• Welding, cutting & fabricating skills
• CDL required
• Ability to understand manuals

Physical Requirements

• Lifting up to 75 pounds
• Able to crawl under truck on back
• Sitting, standing climbing walking for extended periods of time
• Work in closed spaces
• Tolerate noise & temperature variations & working outside.

 Other

• Must be able to work overtime
• Must be able to work some weekends
