Job Description

Job Summary:

A Technical Sales and Applications Engineer’s job consists of selling or introducing corporate products or services to new prospects and established clients. The Technical Sales Engineer’s responsibilities are to develop solutions using our products to customer’s requirements, develop professional quotation packages, obtain and verify customer purchase orders, communicate awards to the organization, and track the progress of awarded programs to ensure on-time delivery to the satisfaction of the customer orders. This role is the primary interface between customers and our organization.

Primary Responsibilities

Sales Engineering:

· Demonstrates a very good understanding of the Li-ion market for Electric Vehicles, Buses, Commercial Trucks, Marine, and Grid.

· Understands and is sensitive to the competitive landscape, knows our competitors’ strength and weaknesses, and is able to articulate and sell our value proposition.

· Good prospector capable of filtering through online leads and others for high quality opportunities that lead to sales growth.

· Identifies decision makers amongst targeted leads.

· Maintains and grows current accounts.

· Customer focused –able to balance the voice of the customer with the voice of the business.

· Capable of developing professional quote packages and presenting them to prospective customers, both written and verbal.

· Manages sales revenue plans, forecasting sales for a three year horizon.

· Assures major customer programs are delivered on time to committed delivery dates.

· Verifies Purchase Orders (POs) agree with quotations.

· Marketing element-develop, update and maintain technical marketing material for brouchers and PR material.

· Manages commercial parameters of product change requests, both customer-initialed and internal

Application Engineering:

· Strong understanding of relevant electrical principals, laws and properties.

· Capable of converting customer requirements and challenges into solutions.

· Capable of sizing battery systems for given voltage, amperage, energy, temperature and other major specifications.

· Working knowledge of different battery chemistries and value propositions associated with each.

· Able to competently and confidently represent our company at technical conferences and shows through speaking engagements, participating in technical seminars.

· Able to communicate to leadership required technology roadmaps, industry trends, and opportunities and threats relative our product strategies.

Qualifications

· B.S. degree or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field)

· Additional Business degree a plus

· Minimum of 3 years experience in Business to Business sales in Technical Area

· Prior track record of achievement in positions with significant responsibility

· Li-ion battery experience a great plus

· Willing to travel approximately 15 to 20% of time

· Able to work in fast-paced, self-directed entrepreneurial environment.

· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

· Highly proficient level computer skills including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.

· Excellent telephone sales personality skills.

· Prominent organization and presentation skills.

· Excellent time management skills.

· Highly energetic and self-starter.
