Job Description

This role will report in-person to our Knoxville, TN headquarters. 

The purpose of this job is develop and implement external communications. The role will plan and execute media relations and external communications to inform and promote target audiences about company and brand initiatives.  

  1. Help develop external communications strategies and plans in support of the company’s goals and objectives 

  2. Prepare external communication materials; Identify, write and edit communications content 

  3. Partner with PR agencies to plan and execute media relations activities 

  4. Support time-sensitive crisis communications including responding to media requests, assisting with media statements, coordinating with stores/internal stakeholders, and preparing sales customer communications  

  5. Collaborate across departments to create and execute external communications  

  6. Plan and execute Company and PR activities as needed 

  7. Prep company spokespersons and develop media materials 

  8. Serve as Company representative at industry and media events 

  9. Respond and advise on incoming communication and media requests 

  10. Report campaign results and develop recommendations 

  11. Help research and monitor new communications tactics, trending media, company media, and communications content ideas 

  12. Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level 

  13. Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2+ years' experience with external/public relations experience,
  • Experience working within a large, matrixed organization preferred

Specialized Knowledge

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
