Job Description

Responsible for conducting thorough inspections and checking throughout the production process to verify compliance with established standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.  Assess product quality and adhere to standard operating procedures and contribute to the company's commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable feed products to customers. Responsible for assuring that the analytical procedures and proper sampling are conducted accordingly for raw materials. Ensures that all routine and monitoring analyses are regularly conducted and provide accurate and precise results to relevant stakeholders.

Inspection and Verification

  • Perform visual inspections and nutritional evaluation of raw materials and feeds to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements. Verify that products (raw materials & feeds) meet established criteria for appearance, texture, color, size, odor, consistency and nutritional content set based on the acceptance and release parameters.

  • Informs concerned department/s on deviation/non-conformity found to identify the root cause.

Sampling and Testing

  • Collect representative samples of raw materials and packaging materials from delivery trucks and finished goods  at various stages of feed production for laboratory testing and analysis. Follow established sampling protocols and procedures to obtain representative samples.

  • Prepare monthly samples for wet chemistry analysis and coordinate with accredited third-party laboratories, as required.

  • Monitor on-hold raw materials and finished goods and ensure timely laboratory analysis to support disposition decisions.

  • Conduct weekly bulk density monitoring and prepare trend reports.

Planning, Production Execution & Coordination

  • Coordinate closely with the toll miller regarding the sequence of raw materials to be elevated and the type of product to be produced, minimizing material run-outs based on the production schedule.

  • Check and review product formulations and ensure that all dosed raw materials strictly accord with the mixing guide, coordinating necessary adjustments with NITR personnel and the toller.

  • Review toll mill volume allocations for production planning and ensure volumes are produced on time to precise customer specifications.

  • Verify macro- and micro-hand-add preparation reports against approved formulations to ensure accuracy.

  • Review dosing report and SOV for compliance with approved formulations and production requirements.

  • Assist in mixer efficiency testing and other process validation activities.

Nonconformity Management

  • Identify, document and communicate product or process nonconformities to the concerned departments.

  • Recommend or initiate immediate containment actions to prevent the release or use of nonconforming materials.

  • Monitor the timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions related to identified quality issues.

Documentation and Record-Keeping

  • Maintain accurate records of check/inspection results and quality control activities. Document observations, deviations, and corrective actions taken during inspections in accordance with established procedures and documentation requirements.

  • Manages and maintains certificates as necessary.

  • Accomplishes shift reports (QA Analyst shift report, FSAR, bin bottom) at the end of shift.

SAP Support and Troubleshooting

  • Perform SAP results recording and usage decision functions for feed product disposition, ensuring only approved batches proceed to market or further processing.

  • Ensure the accurate analysis of Macro, Micro, and Packaging materials, and real-time execution of tasks related to the process/es they are responsible for, including the recording of information and report generation in the designated forms and platforms (e.g. SAP). 

  • Integrate with other parties/ functions whose processes are interfaced with their processes (to enable alignment, efficient flow of the process, and effective implementation of controls).

Compliance Verification

  • Adhere to all safety, quality, and regulatory protocols while conducting inspections and tests.

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.

Product Traceability

  • Assist in maintaining product traceability by accurately recording lot numbers, batch codes, and other product identifiers. Ensure that proper labeling and identification are applied to finished products and packaging materials to facilitate traceability and recall procedures if necessary.

Communication and Collaboration

  • Communicate effectively with the production team, quality assurance team, and other stakeholders to address quality-related issues and coordinate corrective actions.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Technology, Environmental Engineering Technology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering,  Agricultural Engineering, or any science-related course.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or quality assurance role, preferably in the food or feed industry for at least 1 year is preferred but not necessary.

  • Familiar with quality assurance principles, procedures, and tools used in manufacturing environments.

  • Experience in Quality Management Systems is a plus.

License/s: 

  • Eligible to take Chemical Technician Licensure

  •  Good communication Skills

  •  Has basic computer skills, including data entry, document management, and email communication.
