Job Description

  • The IT Staff - Network Infrastructure & Operations assumes a pivotal role in project implementation and post-hypercare activities within the organization's IT landscape.
  • During project implementation, the engineer collaborates closely with project teams to comprehend network requirements, designs, and deploys network solutions. It entails rigorous testing and troubleshooting to ensure the seamless integration of hardware and software components.
  • Post-implementation, the engineer diligently monitors network performance, swiftly addressing any issues that may arise.
  • Continuous assessments and adjustments guarantee the stability of the newly implemented network.
  • Effectively communicated with stakeholders, conduct regular reporting on network health, and close collaboration with support teams to ensure a smooth transition to steady-state operations.
  • Additionally, the engineer provides end-user training, contributes to documentation, and transfers critical knowledge to the support team, ensuring sustained operational excellence and responsiveness to evolving network needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, network administration, systems engineering or a related field of study.
  • Maintains relevant networking certifications such as:
    • COMPTIA’s Network+
    • Cisco’s CCNA 
    • Microsoft certifications in Windows Server and Windows Client

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledgeable in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and access points.
  • Knowledgeable on networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, routing, and switching.
  • Familiarity with network security concepts, including firewall configuration, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, and access control.
  • Experience with wireless networking technologies, including Wi-Fi standards, access points, and wireless security protocols.
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools, such as Wireshark, Nagios, SolarWinds, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with network equipment such as Cisco DNA Center, Cisco Software Defined Access (SDA), Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE), and Cisco Stealthwatch.

Risk Management:

  • Security and Compliance: Ensuring IT infrastructure meets security standards and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Risk Assessment: Identifying potential risks to IT operations and informing the Network Lead.
