Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
- Monitor and maintain the computer systems and network infrastructure.
- Solve Technical and applications problems.
- Install Support and Maintain servers, PCs and applications in coordination with the selected suppliers and the IT Manager.
- Operate the organization’s ERP systems through implementation of best practices through installing, configuring, patching, upgrading, and maintaining the company’s investments in the chosen ERP technologies.
MAIN TASKS
SYSTEMS AND NETWORK:
- Install, configure and maintain computer hardware, operating systems and applications.
- Implement network security measures in order to protect data, software and hardware.
- Maintain logs related to network functions as well as maintenance and repair records.
- Configure and maintain AD, DNS & MS Exchange.
- Manage all system back-up and restore procedures.
- Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and email accounts.
- Install, configure and manage SCCM 2012.
- Deploy policies, applications and script using SCCM.
- Install, configure and manager SCOM 2012.
- Ensure all software is updated, and ensure the latest patches, packs, updates and patterns are installed.
- Install, manage and monitor GFI web monitor.
- Create, manage and configure virtual machines in VMWare.
- Install and manage Kaspersky antivirus on servers and workstations.
- Perform troubleshooting analysis of servers, workstations and associated systems.
- Manage and monitor Microsoft EOP (mail filter).
- Configure and manage windows updates through WSUS.
- Manage switches, ports and virtual networks.
- Maintain a network infrastructure map of all the points.
- Perform regular checkup on the servers (performance, health checks and physical checks).
- Ensure server backup and security from unauthorized access.
- Install, maintain and upgrade servers and PCs.
- Talk staff through a series of actions either face to face or over the telephone to help set up systems or resolve issues.
- Maintain a proper and clean server room.
- Monitor, maintain and administer computer networks including software, applications, IP telephony and operating systems.
- Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
- Perform Routine network startup and shutdown procedures, and maintain control records.
- Troubleshoot system and network problems; diagnose and solve hardware, operating systems and software faults.
- Contact and establish a good working relationship with users, providers and other professionals.
ERP:
- Responsible for ensuring the reliable performance of ERP systems.
- Participate in projects to implement, test and design ERP systems and applications.
- Resolve certain ERP related problems.
- Monitor and maintain ERP systems security.
- Liaise with company’s ERP suppliers for prompt rectification of any problems or emergencies.
- Perform daily monitoring and troubleshooting of the ERP system.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- BS in Computer Science, MIS or Computer Engineering.
- 4-5 years experience in systems administration and networking infrastructures and administrating ERP applications.
- Previous experience in Oracle JDE ERP is a plus.
- Experience in SQL / Oracle queries.
- Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of ERP software solutions.
SKILLS, COMPETENCIES & KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge in Computer hardware and operating systems (Windows, Unix, Linux, etc).
- Knowledge in Microsoft products (Active Directory, Exchange Server, WSUS, Group Policies, SQL, etc).
- Knowledge in networking protocols, infrastructures, IP telephony and equipment.
- Knowledge in security principles, software, devices and best practices (Antivirus, Antispam, Firewalls, VPN, etc).
- MCSA/MCSE and CCNA are a plus.
- Technically fluent in relational database administration, including MSSQL, Oracle JDE or similar large-scale relational databases, Navision, Microsoft ERP.
- Knowledge of enterprise-level applications, including CRM, data warehouses, etc.
- Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
- Ability to work well in a team.
- Ability to prioritize workload and work under tight deadlines.
- Attention to details.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to set up temporary solutions to ensure business continuity.
- Ability to translate the management requests into technical implementation.
